Happy Holidays from Seahorse Swim School...
Hope your family is doing well after a great Thanksgiving weekend.

Swim lessons are still going on and the weather is great! Here's whats happening with us...

Seascape Sports Club
Our Fall Session continues through this Thursday 12/4. Drop-in's are welcome.
Private and semi-private swim lessons are available through the end of December 2008.

Non-Competitive Swimteam at Seascape
Swimteam has been doing great. All the participants are making leaps and bounds in their fitness level. Several swimteamers have expressed interest in continuing workouts until Christmas. I was thinking of offering Saturday only workouts for an hour on Saturday December 6, 13 and 20th. If you have interest in a Saturday only workout for your child(ren), please email/call me back. If there is enough interest... we will make it happen.

Registration for 2009 Swim Programs at Seascape will be available in January and
will be announced in the January Newsletter. Look forward to it!

Chaminade
Private and semi-private lessons are available until Christmas. Even if you wanted to book a lesson after Christmas until Jan 4th, I would be available. No problem. This is a great time to get some lessons in; the pool is empty.. more than usual! Seahorse Swim School is offering 10% off all private/semi-private new bookings for the month of December 2008. All openings are listed on my SCHEDULING page on my website.

For lessons in 2009, if you would like to reserve a particular day/time in 2009 at Chaminade, you may make those reservations now. February lessons at Chaminade will begin Sunday, February 8, 2009.

Seahorse Swim School will be back in full swim come February 2009. We will continue to offer private and semi-private swim lessons at Chaminade M/W/F afternoons and Sunday mornings and a full swim program will begin again in February along with our non-competitive swimteam out of Seascape Sports Club.

American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Course
This class is for those interested in becoming American Red Cross Learn-to-Swim Instructors. Participants must be at least 16 years old to participate. I am organizing this course for the month of December and will offer it again in February/March 2009. Job opportunities as Swim Instructors await WSI's in 2009. If you know of someone who might be interested, please refer them to me soon.

In 2009, Seahorse Swim School is looking to expand! Seahorse Swim School is branching out into fitness. Look for a youth fitness program to come in the New Year at Seascape Sports Club.
More information to come. This is going to be wonderful! I promise!

Red Cross Gift Wrapping
For all your holiday needs, your local Chapter of the American Red Cross will be wrapping your gifts for donations in the Capitola Mall until Christmas Eve. Why not support your local Red Cross and bring all your presents to us! We will wrap them lickedy split and make them look so nice with all kinds of frillies. We look forward to seeing you.

The Seahorse Aquatic Staff thanks you for all your support throughout the years.. We are so excited to be able to do what we absolutely love to do.. and we are only getting better as the years go on. 2009 is looking to be another great year. Hold strong, stay positive; times are changing.. and we look forward to growing with you in the New Year!

We are dedicated to raising happy, healthy and strong swimmers for our beach community. Seahorse Swim School, Inc. is celebrating 10 years of business next year in Santa Cruz.. Big Thanks to everyone who has been a part of this growing Program.

Friendly reminders:

We swim rain or shine. If lessons are canceled due to inclement weather, I would call you on the cell number provided. If you do not hear from me, lessons are a GO. If you try to call on the day of your lesson and I do not answer, it is probably because I am in the water and can not answer the phone call. The Weather Channel is a link on my website, you can check the projected weather patterns for 10 days in advance.

Wetsuits (spring suits are best for swim lessons) are available at Hotline on the Westside with a discount for Seahorse Swimmers. Wetsuits provide an extra layer to keep warm during Winter lessons. You must shop during business hours M-F to be sure you get your 30% discount. Tell 'em Tiffany sent ya!
All checks should be made payable to Seahorse Swim School, Inc. for lessons at Chaminade.
Checks and cash are accepted.

Wetsuits/Rashguards: When the weather is not so HOT, your child can still remain nice and toasty by coming to swimming lessons in a wetsuit or rashguard. All they need is a Spring suit; something that covers their core. Wetsuits and rashguards not only protect from the cold, but also provide fantastic sun protection. O'neills offers a great program for children's wetsuits. After the child grows out of the first one, O'neill's will sell you the next one at 1/2 off. Kick sticks are available for purchase ($15) from Seahorse Swim School, Inc. These fantastic instructional bars help to aid with the coordination of side breathing when practicing freestyle as well as help to assist in becoming more independent in the water. Let me know if you would like one.
